Beaver State Fling: Another top five finish for Gannon Buhr
Playing a brand new layout on the Riverbend Disc Golf Course at the famed Milo McIver State Park in Estacada, Oregon, seven Prodigy Disc Team players finished in the top 25 at the Beaver State Fling Disc Golf Pro Tour Silver event.
Gannon Buhr closed out the final day with a 10-under par round to climb three spots into solo fourth place at 26-under par total, averaging above his 1045 PDGA player rating over three rounds. Buhr has not finished outside the top 25 since his first event of 2023 at the Las Vegas Challenge, and the BSF top five is his fifth Silver/Elite/Major event top five of the year, including wins at the Open at Austin and Blue Ridge Championship.

Playing in her first stateside tournament since last year’s Throw Pink Women’s Disc Golf Championship, Scotland’s Rachel Turton shot above her 934 player rating each round on the way to a 12th place finish. She was ranked sixth in Strokes Gained from Tee to Green at 12.07. Turton won last season’s Scottish Open and British Championship, as well as the European Pro Tour’s Copenhagen Open and EPT All-Stars event.
Top 25 Results
Luke Humphries matched Buhr’s 10-under par, bogey-free final round to move up nine spots and finish in a tie for 16th. It’s Humphries' third top 25 showing at a DGPT event in 2023 and first since the Music City Open.
Isaac Robinson led the Beaver State Fling in Strokes Gained in Circle 2 Putting and Parked Percentage, and was second in the division in C2 Putting Percentage in a 20th place effort. He has not finished outside the top 25 at any event since the calendar turned to April.
In his first event back on tour since the Open at Austin, Cale Leiviska didn’t miss a beat with a 22nd place finish. Dr. Smooth led the event in Fairway Hits percentage at 88%, had throw-ins every round, and only recorded two holes over par.
A birdie on hole 18 kept Lykke Lorentzen in the top 25 for the fourth time in 2023. Earlier in the final round she also hit a 90-footer and 60-footer on back-to-back holes.
Stop us if you’ve heard this before, Väinö Mäkelä notched another top 25 with a 24th place showing. He also posted a new vlog to his YouTube channel while on site.
Alden Harris (26th), Kevin Jones (30th), and Justin Rosak (33rd) rounded out the top 50 at the Beaver State Fling.
European Pro Tour and A-Tiers
At the European Pro Tour #2 Belgian Open Powered by Prodigy, Teemu Talikainen used a strong second round to take a lead he would not relinquish and win the event by six strokes. Talikainen led the field in Fairway Hits, Circle 2 in Regulation, and Birdie percentage, and the victory is his first on the European Pro Tour.
Last season Talikainen won the Prodigy Disc Pro Tour Tampere, and at only 18 years old the Finn is certainly a talent worth keeping an eye on. Mauri Villmann followed up his EPT #1 Copenhagen Open win with a fifth place finish and Luukas Rokkanen was seventh in MPO.
In FPO, Tinja Väisänen earned her first top five of the season by finishing fourth, and Jenni Karppinen was sixth.
Chantel Budinsky, aka @MissFrisbees, won the Foxwood Open A-Tier in Ontario, Canada by six strokes. It is her second career professional A-Tier win.
