Portland Open: Four top 10 finishes at the first Elite+ event of the season
Playing two courses at the Glendoveer Golf Course in Oregon, six Prodigy Disc Team players finished in the top 25 at the Portland Open Disc Golf Pro Tour Elite+ event.
Isaac Robinson finished up his tournament with a day's best 10-under par final round to lock up solo fourth place. Robinson, who finished third at this event in 2022, started with the opening day hot round as well and never fell below fourth in the standings over four rounds. Isaac averaged more than 12 points above his 1037 PDGA player rating and was top five in Circle 1 in Regulation, Fairway Hits, and Scramble percentage.
Just behind Isaac in a tie for fifth place was Alden Harris, who recorded his best-ever Elite event finish. His 8-under par second round first moved him into contention, and he held onto his position with clutch putting all weekend, like this recovery on hole 14 during round 3.
Playing in her final stateside tournament before returning to Scotland, Rachel Turton averaged 24 points above her 934 player rating on the way to a 10th place finish. She'll be playing on the European tours through the summer.
Gannon Buhr's 9-under par hot round during day 2 moved him up 61 spots on the leaderboard and he continued to play well to secure another top 10 finish with a tie for ninth place. It's his sixth consecutive top 10 finish at an Elite/Major event.
Top 25 Results
Lykke Lorentzen was also playing for last stateside event until August and had her best Elite event finish of the season with a 15th place showing. She shot above her 932 rating all four rounds.
In his first event in more than a month, Ezra Robinson notched his third Elite event top 25 finish of the season by tying for 22nd place. He did not record a bogey during rounds 3 and 4 on the East course.
Kevin Jones (26th), and Justin Rosak (44th) rounded out the top 50 at the Portland Open.
European Pro Tour and A-Tiers
At the European Pro Tour #3 Estonian Open Powered by Prodigy, Mauri Villman used a strong second round to take a lead he would not relinquish and win the event in his home country by six strokes over a deep field that included Paul McBeth. Villman led the field in Circle 1X Putts, Fairway Hits, Circle 2 in Regulation, and Birdie percentage. He never missed a putt inside 10 meters. It's his second EPT win of the season, his first coming at EPT #1 in Copenhagen, to go with a Prodigy Disc Pro Tour win at Helsinki.
Joonas Aalto was tied for fifth, Markus Fjørtoft eighth place, Rasmus Tuominen tied for 12th, Paavo Putto was tied for 25th, Henar Ruudna tied for 43rd, and Mathias Villota tied for 49th in MPO.
In FPO, Estonian Kaidi Allsalu finished on the podium in third place after shooting the hot round on day one. Kaidi captured EPT #1 in Copenhagen. Tinja Väisänen earned a seventh place finish.
