Thompson Shoots 1080-Rated Round for First Pro Win

Harper Thompson claimed his first professional win in style, shooting a 1080-rated final round to ultimately finish nine strokes ahead at the Shelby Shootout 2021 in his hometown of Nashville, Tenn.

Thompson found himself two strokes out of the lead and tied for second with two others looming a pair of strokes back after round one. His blazing hot second round -- a bogey-free 14-under par effort that was nine strokes clear of the next best round -- left everyone behind and catapulted him to the top of the leaderboard by a wide margin. He finished with an 18-under 100 total for the event.

Thompson has been with Prodigy nearly since the start, and the win marks a great milestone for the former member of the Protégé Team turned Tournament Team member. 

Chris Dickerson picked up where he left off in 2020 with his first win in 2021 coming at The 2021 Knoxville Ice Bowl in Tennessee. Dickerson posted both rounds above his rating with the second clocking in at 1076. He had the hot score in both rounds and picked up the win by nine strokes.

Winter Roundup (December 2020 - January 2021)

Matt Orum took down the 18th Annual Fairhope Jubilee in Fairhope, Ala., for his first win of the year. It was another classic battle with teammate Cameron Colglazier. Orum ultimately used a 1063-rated second round to win by five and wrap up back-to-back hot rounds. Mike Brown picked up a narrow win in Pro Masters 40+ with his 16-under 110 total over two rounds. It was good enough to finish ahead by one.

Ezra Robinson racked up a 20 stroke margin on the way to a win at Throwmageddon V in December. Robinson grabbed 11 of those throws in a 1080-rated second round in Cumming, Ga., to cap off the wire-to-wire win.

Current Protégé Jonathan Miller got his first win of the year at the Realside's Hair of the Dog @ Alex Clark. He beat out all the other Rec players with a 7-under at the event in McKinney, Texas.

GT Hancock tied for first at the Straddle the Brazos in Waco, Texas. Hancock's 11-under tied him with two others after the first round, but he would not get a chance to attack for the solo win due to inclement weather cancelling the second. Hancock also won in playoff fashion at the Piney Woods Open in Tyler, Texas. He completed the December comeback by making up five strokes in the third round and finishing the final 9 tied for the lead before winning the two-hole playoff.

Danny Beauchamp bagged back to back wins toward the end of 2020 after his switch to Prodigy. One came at the 14th Discontinuum Club Invitational by four strokes and the other a day later at A Shady Christmas by five -- both in Illinois.

Donavon Ferguson got two December wins in Wisconsin at the 6th Annual Riverside Fall Open and the other at the Sandy Knoll Flex Start #4. His 7-under final round at the Riverside Fall Open locked up first by stick and won the Flex Start by three. 

Owen McCall finished his 2020 with two straight wins in Advanced. He won the Craven Chains Classic in New Bern, N.C. in wire-to-wire fashion over three rounds. The next week, he won the 2nd Annual Casey Logan Fall Throw Down in Kill Devil Hills, N.C., overcoming a three stroke deficit after round one to win by two.
